Four skilled women artisans from the Atlas mountains in Morocco come together to make our sabra cactus silk cushions. Fibres are collected from the aloe vera plant and spun to make silk thread. The thread is then dyed different colours and woven using traditional wooden looms. A zipper is added and the cushions are then washed and dried in the sun to achieve their unique rustic appearance.
As each individual pillow is handwoven, hand dyed and hand washed in different weaver’s homes, natural variations in size, tone and braided colour may occur from the image shown.
